What do I do?

That’s a very interesting question. What DOES Geoff Depew do?

Right now, I’ve decided to do some self-employment, using the skills I’ve picked up from being on the Internet since you needed bang-paths for email addresses and what I’ve learned from a lot of people out there.

What can I do for you? This is a presentation I put together about that kind of thing.

I created it on my Mac, in iWork Keynote format, but I know people may not have access to that, or a reader, so here it is for you in PowerPoint as well as as a PDF.

In addition to presentations like that for myself, I can do that for employers, on a spec. I also have experience in technical writing for my previous employer, with a number of the internal documents I created being cleaned up and turned into training documents. I think that’s a sign I did a good job with them.

I also created the Twitter Tools quick setup guide after finding a number of stumbling blocks for setting that addon up.

I worked for a major financial corporation for ten years, in a number of capacities, which taught me skills like account management in Windows networks, paying attention to security and how to do things in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. (And that last, my friends, is not particularly easy.)

And if you’d like to see my resume, you can get it in DOCX format, DOC format, or as a PDF.
